Many people are faced with the common effects of aging including facial wrinkles, creases and folds, thin or flat lips, and hollow areas under the eyes, temples and cheeks. Fortunately there are numerous injectable treatments like Botox and dermal fillers available to instantly reverse the signs of aging; earning injectables the nickname “liquid facelift”.
These non-surgical treatments work in various ways to provide volume and lift to targeted problem areas – smoothing out wrinkles and lines, plumping flat lips, and correcting hollow areas. Today’s injectables have the power to provide complete facial rejuvenation, giving patients a more fresh and youthful appearance.
As we age our skin gradually loses its elasticity. A lack of the elasticity can cause excessive skin to collect on the upper and lower eyelids. This extra skin can cause wrinkles and bulges on the lower eyelids. On the upper eyelids, an extra skin fold can hang over the eyelashes causing some difficulty seeing.
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure in which loose or excess skin is removed from the eyelids to restore a youthful appearance.
A chemical peel is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands. Dermatologists use chemical peels as cosmetic dermatology to treat:
- Acne (some types).
- Age spots.
- Discoloration (blotchy complexion, uneven skin tone).
- Dull complexion.
- Fine lines (especially under the eyes and around the mouth).
- Rough-feeling skin.
- Sun-damage skin.
HAIR TRANSPLANTATION-information only.
Hair loss is caused by a combination of aging, a change in hormones and a family history of Baldness. Hair transplantation involves removing small pieces of hair-bearing scalp grafts from a donor site and relocating them to a bald or thinning area. Not an offered service at this time due to lack of interest from patients.
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser (an intense, pulsating beam of light) to damage individual hair follicles inhibiting future hair growth. It is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair because the laser targets the pigment in the hair. Most common treatment areas are legs, armpits, upper lip, chin and bikini line. However, it is possible to treat any unwanted hair except around the eyes.
The Q-switched laser is used to remove unwanted brown spots, sun freckles, or tattoos from your skin. The laser energy pulse, which is in billionths of a second, releases the pigment into the skin so it can be naturally reabsorbed and disposed of by the body. A single treatment usually removes greater than 75-100% of an individual brown spot. A second or, on rare occasions, a third treatment, may be needed to completely neutralize the color.
The VBeam laser is a non-invasive pulsed dye laser that treats a variety of skin conditions. It is a gentle and safe, requiring little to no downtime. The VBeam laser can treat rosacea and facial redness; enlarged facial veins; telangiectasias; red spots such as hemangiomas; vascular birthmarks such as port-wine stains; red acne scars, stretch marks, thickened scars as well as sun spots and freckles.
The Candela VBeam laser is used to treat lesions without damaging the surrounding tissues. Additionally, the VBeam utilizes DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) which is a burst of cryogen that protects the skin and provides anesthesia. It can take multiple cosmetic dermatology treatments depending on the type of lesion being treated.
