Here is a wide range of skin conditions that can make you feel self-conscious about your appearance. We offer cosmetic non-surgical and surgical procedures to treat acne, dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, hair loss, and more.
While the detection, treatment, and prevention of skin cancer are a major focus at High Valley Dermatology, we also treat the full spectrum of dermatologic conditions including acne, rashes, warts, moles, etc.
Although not treated with Mohs micrographic surgery, melanoma is a serious health concern and Drs. Sewell and Miner are also well-experienced in the treatment and aftercare of patients with melanoma. We are your Southeast Idaho dermatology specialists.
High Valley Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Sewell and Dr. Miner are fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeons, and thus are fellows of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), founded by Dr. Fred Mohs.
Their full-year of fellowship training centered on the precise removal of many different skin cancers, and the aesthetic reconstruction of the surgical defects after their removal. For the most common forms of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, this technique offers cure rates of 98% and higher.
Our physicians are not only kind and caring they also have the highest training possible for the surgical treatment of skin cancer from Blackfoot to Bozeman and Sun Valley to Cheyenne. They each did an additional year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic and Reconstructive Surgery which offers the smallest possible defect with the highest cure rate for some types of skin cancer.
They also treat the full spectrum of dermatologic conditions ranging from Acne to Zoster. Our doctors also enjoy educating our patients and community members about skin cancer prevention.
Dr. Sewell attended medical school in our nation’s capital at The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Following graduation in 2003, he stayed at GWU for a one-year internship in internal medicine and then moved on to dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in central Pennsylvania. Dr. Sewell has been a successful Fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic Skin Cancer Surgeon for more than a decade. During this time helping thousands of patients with thousands of cancers.
