Lipoma

Lipomas are a benign growth of fat cells in a thin capsule just below the surface of the skin.  They are most commonly found on the torso, neck, upper thighs, upper arms, and armpits.  They are the most common noncancerous soft tissue growth. The doctors at High Valley Dermatology are available to discuss your Lipoma treatment and the options available to you.

Symptoms may include:

  • Soft and malleable texture

  • Usually are painless, however, can become inflamed and tender

  • Non changing or slow growing

Treatment options:

  • Surgical Excision

  • Steroid injection to decrease inflammation

Lipomas excision is typically considered a cosmetic treatment unless painful, inflamed or constricts movement.
