Living in dry climates can really take a toll on your skin. Acne is a common problem but no less of a drag. Some people can be quite sensitive about their appearance because of it and force themselves into a social isolation. Acne is not life threatening, but it’s uncomfortable and often times embarrassing.
Your High Valley Dermatology physicians understand that you are seeking acne treatment in whatever way will finally give you relief. There are a few home remedies out there that can help fight certain symptoms of mild acne. For moderate to severe acne we really hope you will come see us soon at High Valley Dermatology. We can help you out and get you relief.
Apple cider vinegar kills off the bacteria that might have been the cause all the troublesome acne in the first place. It also becomes alkaline, and balances the pH of your skin, which in turn makes it harder for bacteria to thrive. First wash your face well and dab dry with a clean towel. You can find apple cider vinegar at most grocery stores in Idaho Falls. Dab your face with a cotton ball that has been dipped in a mix of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. You can leave this mixture on your face as long as you want, even over night. Make sure to at least leave it there for 10 minutes. The apple cider vinegar acne treatment attempt will also dry out your acne, so if dry skin is your problem, this is not a solution.
The papaya fruit is a commonly found ingredient in many natural face washes. Papaya is known for removing dead skin cells and excess lipids from the surface of the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. After washing your face, mash up a papaya and apply it to your face and let it sit for about 20 minutes before washing it off. This is a great natural attempt at acne treatment.
While we’re on the topic of fruit pastes, orange peels are packed with vitamin C, citric acid, and astringent properties. These qualities make for a soothing acne treatment that is rejuvenating and refreshing to our skin. An orange peel mask may help with releasing clogged pores on your face. Using a blender or a mortar and pestle, grind up some orange peel rinds along with water to make the paste. Avoid too much water because you’re shooting for a paste. Leave the mask on for 15-25 minutes before washing off.
No ingredients here, no recipe to be made, just boil water. Hovering your face over some steam from boiling water will help open your clogged pores and give you some relief. To get your face as much steam as possible, hover your head over the recently cooled off boiling water’s steam with a towel draped over your head. Be careful not to burn yourself with hot water!
